DIY Lip Scrub

lip_scrub_exfoliator_diy.jpg

With all the bold lip colors out this season, your lips are sure to be the center of attention. It is important to keep your lips soft and smooth for a perfect lipstick application. There are many lip scrubs on the market, but why spend money on something you make at home? You can make your own lip scrub using these simple ingredients:

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 2 tsp sugar

Add all of these ingredients into a small container and mix well. The honey we've added to the mixture not only thickens the concoction, but it also nourishes your lips as you exfoliate them. Gently massage the scrub into your lips using circular motions.  Keep massaging until you've removed all the dry skin from your lips (this general takes about 30-45 seconds). Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Be sure to apply a lip balm with SPF to seal in the moisture and protect those luscious lips from the sun.

Ask Tia Tuesday

Today's Ask Tia Tuesday question comes from Brianna C. Brianna asks:

I love the summer but I HATE what the heat does to my foundation. It just slides right off my face. What can I do to make sure that my foundation doesn't come off?

Thanks for your question Brianna! The summer heat can be brutal on a perfectly made-up face. It is so important to reinforce your foundation to make sure that it stays put. My advice would be to apply a face primer before applying your foundation. This simple step will ensure that your foundation stands up against the summer heat. Korres has a great face primer that is silicone-free, 99% natural, and it loaded with antioxidants! It will definitely keep your foundation in place.

You can find Korres primer at your local Sephora.
